The AT1326 is a constant current driver
incorporating shift register and data latch. The
output constant current can be set using an external
resistor. All outputs will have virtually the same
current levels. The device also incorporates
thermal shutdown circuitry which turns constant
current output off when the junction temperature
exceeds the limit.

Description
GND terminal for control logic and current sink.
Input terminal for serial data for data shift register.
Input terminal for clock for data shift on rising edge.
Input terminal for data strobe. When the LATCH input is driven High,
data is not latched. When it is pulled Low, data is latched.
OUT0 ~ OUT15 Constant-current output terminals.
Input terminal for output enable.
ENABLE
All outputs ( OUT0 to OUT15 ) are turned off, when the ENABLE
terminal is driven High. And are turned on, when the terminal is driven Low.
SDO
Output terminal for serial data input on SDI terminal
R-EXT
Input terminal used to connect an external resistor. This regulated the output
current.
VDD
3.3V/5V supply voltage terminal.

Application Circuits
Constant Current
The output current is set that have considered the following items
1.
In all channels on, the output current accuracy between channels is less than ±3%, and between ICs
is less than ±6%.
2.
The output current is constant if the VDS is enough, users can refer to the figure as below.
Adjusting Output Current
The output current of each channel is set by an external resistor in R-EXT pin. The relationship
between IOUT and Rext is shown in the following figure.
The output current can be calculated from the equation:
VEXT=0.620V; IOUT = (VEXT / Rext) X 30
Where Rext is the external resistor connected to R-EXT pin and VEXT is the voltage of R-EXT pin.

The AT1326 are designed to operate with the VDS of 0.6V to 0.8V with the LED forward voltage (VF)
of 1.2 to 4.0V. If higher voltages are dropped across the driver, package power dissipation will increase
significantly. It is recommended to use the lowest load supply voltage or to set any serials dropping
voltage (VDROP) as
VDS = VLED – VF –VDROP
The resistors or Zener diode, or a serials string of diodes can be used in the applications as shown in the
following figures.
