No.: B-12M0057 Date of issue: Dec. 20, 2012 Fiber Separation Tool DATA SHEET FST-12 The FST-12 is a tool to quickly split a 12-fiber ribbon into individual fibers or sub-groups with separation ratio from 1:11 to 6:6. This easy-handling and ergonomic design creates reliable operation in limited space. The operation steps are, 1) setting fiber ribbon in one of 6 slits on the lower jaw, depending on separation ratio, 2) pinching the fiber by closing upper/lower jaws, 3) by squeezing the trigger, the fiber to be split, 4) then pulling (sliding) the fiber out of the tool to be separated. Sub-groups of fibers or even 1 fiber can be extracted from 12-fiber ribbon by performing two overlapping separation of the ribbon.
