System Sensor SP2C Series Description Ceiling Mount Speakers/Strobe Notification Appliances The System Sensor SP2C Series speaker/strobes are designed to meet the demands of fire protection and life safety applications. Housed in rugged plastic, these speakers are made for ceiling mounting and are Listed for indoor use. The speakers are available for 25 or 70.7 nominal VRMS applications and are designed for high dB output with uniform frequency response across the 400-4,000 Hz range. They contain taps selectable from 0.25 to 2.0 watts and a blocking capacitor for D.C. supervision. All models have separate screw terminals for speakers and strobes. The System Sensor Model SP2C speaker/strobes may be mounted either surface or flush. The unit can be flush mounted on a 4-inch square electrical box, 1 1/2-inches deep, with a Model BBSCW accessory skirt for surface mount. SP2C Features • Listed under UL Standards 1480 and 1971. • High intensity strobe option meets or exceeds ADA The strobes operate on 24 VDC, contain xenon flash tubes and are Listed for indoor use. Their design enables them to meet the requirements of UL STD 1971 at low power consumption. They have a nominal flash rate of one flash per second. Units are intended for non-sleeping areas/ADA applications (15, 15-75, 30, 75, 95, or 115 cd). The strobes are visible from all sides of the clear lens. The word FIRE is silk-screened in red on a white housing and vice versa. • Strobes equipped with Xenon flash tubes. The strobes may be used in conjunction with the MDL synchronization module which can synchronize two (2) Style Y (Class B) or one (1) Style Z (Class A) circuit. It can also generate an ANSI S3.41 temporal pattern. The module mounts in a 4 11/16” square electrical box, 2 1/8” deep.
