G5631 Global Mixed-mode Technology Inc. 1.5A, 1.4MHz Buck Converter Features General Description The G5631 is a high efficiency, 1.5A buck converter with a high-side low RDS(ON) switch. It operates from 4.5V to 24V input voltage range, and provides up to 1.5A continuous output current with the output voltage adjustable down to 0.81V with excellent load and line regulation. 4.5V to 24V Supply Voltage Operating Range Fixed 1400kHz Switching Frequency Current-Mode Buck PWM Converter Built-in 0.3Ω Power MOSFET Switch Stable with Low ESR Output Ceramic Capacitors 1.5A Output Current 0.81V Internal Reference Shutdown Control Thermal-Shutdown and Internal Soft Start Cycle-by-Cycle Current-Limit Short Circuit Protection Under-Voltage Lockout Protection TSOT-23-6 Packages The G5631 has internal compensation and requires a minimum number of external components. Current mode operation provides fast transient response and eases loop stabilization. The G5631 uses a fixed switching frequency up to 1.4MHz. When a short circuit is detected on the output, the device change switching frequency to 460kHz to protect IC from damage.
