ECHOTEL® 919 Universal ultrasonic level switch DESCRIPTION With relay or all voltage Echotel 919 ultrasonic level controls are compact integral units which utilize pulsed wave technology to detect high or low level alarm in a broad range of viscous to light liquids. The 919 has protected electronics, and its high frequency signal prevents the unit from picking up noise from surrounding equipment such as engines, pumps etc... The Echotel 919 is available in two versions: - all voltage unit (must be used in series with a load) - unit with integrated relay (3A SPDT @ 24 V DC). Pump protection Lo alarm Pump Worldwide level and flow solutions P R I N C I P L E O F O P E R AT I O N The Echotel 919 operates on a two crystal pulsed or “transmit-receive” principle which applies a high frequency electronic burst to the transmit crystal. The signal is then converted into ultrasonic sound energy and transmitted across the sensing gap toward the receiver crystal. When there is air in the gap, the high frequency sound energy will be attenuated, thereby not allowing the energy to be received. When there is liquid in the gap, the sound energy will propagate across the gap and the output will indicate such a reception of the signal.
