General Description
Features
This electrical evaluation board allows for checking the
performance of the SY84402L VCSEL driver while
driving passive load.

Evaluation Board Setting and Operation
Performance
1. The driver is on by default. To disable it install
a jumper on J7.
2. Turn R1 completely clockwise to set the
modulation to its minimum (VCTRL=VCC).
3. Connect the input IN (J1) and /IN (J2) to the
output of the pattern generator.
4. Connect the output Q (J4) and /Q (J3) to the
scope.
5. Connect 3.3V to J5 (red) and GND to J6
(black) to power the board.
6. Turn R1 counter-clockwise to increase
modulation current. The modulation current is
given by:
IMOD = Eye amplitude / RLoad
7. To reverse the output data polarity install a
jumper on J8. Note that polarity reversal also
inverts the polarity of enable function from /EN
to EN.
