Substances in products
Legal Requirements & Standards for the EU-Market
Placing on the market of products is subject to specific regional (EU) or national legal
requirements. Within the European Union (EU), these legal requirements are defined in
EU-Regulations which are directly enforceable in the Member States or in EU-Directives
which require a transformation into Member States' national legal Systems. Compliance
with the applicable legal requirements is obligatory for every party putting products on
the EU-Market. Therefore OSRAM bears responsibility.
The following Directives and Regulations restrict the use of hazardous substances in

Products delivered by OSRAM into the European Economic Area (EEA) today and in the
future satisfy the applicable legal requirements, a s well as the applicable product
Standards (EN/IEC).
•
OSRAM instalied a system within its Company which ensures compliance with the
applicable legal requirements. This System includes products, parts and materials
procured from suppliers.

According to Directive 2011/65/EU ("RoHS") OSRAM's products delivered into E E A
market do not contain the following substances exceeding defined maximum
concentration values, unless in an application exempted by Annex of RoHS Directive
(incl. amendments).

The following substances have been added to Annex II of the RoHS Directive
(2015/863/EU): Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP),
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) und Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP). OSRAM will ensure in
Cooperation with its suppliers that OSRAM products will be in conformity with these
substance bans in time before they take effect on July 2 2 2019.
