Hall sensor ic
Features
General Description
ÿ Integrated Hall sensor with window comparator
ÿ Supply voltage range 2.0 V to 6.0 V
ÿ Digital output
ÿ Threshold select input (+/-45 mT, +/-22.5 mT)
ÿ Speed select input (5 kSamples/s, 10 kSamples/s)
ÿ Current consumption
ÿ<18 µA in low speed, high threshold mode
ÿ<38 µA in high speed, low threshold mode
ÿ Low supply detection
ÿ Operating temperature range -40°C to +125°C
ÿ TSSOP8 package
This IC contains a Hall sensor and two high gain, chopper stabilized comparators forming a window comparator. It evaluates the magnetic field component perpendicular to the device surface. Three levels are indicated:
beyond the positive threshold, around zero, and beyond
the negative threshold. The result is indicated at two
digital output pins. The fourth state that can be displayed is the low supply indication.
The sample rate of 10kSamples/s enables fast movement detections. In order to achieve the very low average current consumption the IC performs pulsed measurement cycles. The outputs are latched with each
update.
Two digital input pins allow for configuration of threshold and speed according to the application needs.
