One PC( win7 32bit) and UNO( if it support pxe boot. We use UNO-3072LA here) 2. Set static ip address on PC (you could set any ip address if you want, 192.168.20.2 for example here) No need to set ip address on UNO at this moment. 3. PC connect to UNO with Ethernet cable directly/by switch. (notice: under the network of PC and UNO, the dhcp server is not allowed. It will cause failure of this practice) PC Side: 1. Install SERVA software http://www.vercot.com/~serva/download/Serva_Non-Supporter_32_v2.0.0.zip 2. Execute SERVA 3. Create directory C:\SERVA_ROOT\ 4. Configure TFTP setting Page 1 5. Configure DHCP Server Page 2 6. Quit and restart SERVA. We will see SERVA create following directory structure: WIA_RIS supposed to hold Windows 2000/ xp/ Server 2003, WIA_WDS supposed to hold Windows Vista/ 7/ 8/ Server 2008. Every distribution has to create head directory by your own, copy the file which from Microsoft distribution media to the head directory, for example: If you are heading to install Windows 2000/ xp/ Server 2003, the tftp server root directory (C:\SERVA_ROOT here) has to be shared with name “WIA_RIS_SHARE” which use read-only. Page 3 If you are heading to install Windows Vista/ 7/ 8/ Server 2008, Directory WIA_WDS has to be shared as WIA_WDS_SHARE (read-only). In this case, you shouldn’t share root directory(C:\SERVA_ROOT here), it will cause the failure. 7. Quit and restart SERVA. 8. Power on your UNO. 9. Enter BIOS (v1.1c for example). Advanced BIOS Feature -> First Boot Device -> [LAN] Save and quit. (notice: in some version of BIOS, you might find out the “pxe boot option”. You should enable it) 10. Boot up your UNO, you should see it’s looking for dhcp service and loading some information.
