For optimal charging efficiency and battery performance, charge batteries at room temperature (68°F to 75°F). 1. Raise holder tab to allow AA size batteries, or lower holder tab to accept AAA size batteries. 2. Install batteries in bay as indicated by the polarity (+/-) symbols. If charging only two batteries, both batteries must be in the left bay. Slide switch to position "2" for 2 cell charging or "4" for 4 cell charging. FOR HOME USE: 3. Plug the AC outlet plug of the electrical outlet adapter into the DC input jack of the charger. Plug the electrical outlet adapter into a standard AC outlet. FOR VEHICLE USE: 3. Plug the DC car adapter outlet plug into the DC input jack of the charger. Plug the large end of the cord into the 12V car accessory/lighter port. 4. When batteries are charging, the indicator RED LED will light. A flashing LED indicates a bad battery. 5. When charging is complete (up to 4 hours), the RED LED will turn off and the GREEN LED will light. 6. Unplug the charger from the outlet and remove batteries. Charger and batteries may be left plugged into outlet to maintain charge.
