Slide out the battery compartment and set the battery holder to the appropriate setting. Install the batteries in the chamber as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside. When charging two AA or AAA batteries, use the two left or two right chambers. (unit charges AA and AAA batteries in pairs) Plug the charger into a standard AC outlet. The charge status indicator will operate as follows: When normal charging has started, the LED Charge Indicator will appear as shown in fig. 1. As the battery is charged, the LED Charge Indicator will begin to change its display. When the cycle reaches approx. 50% the display will appear as shown in fig. 2. When the charge cycle is complete, the display will appear as shown in fig. 3. At this time, the batteries may be removed from the charger for use. Optionally. they may be left in the charger and the charger will continue to charge the battery in a "Top-off" mode that allows additional charge to be stored. Top-off charging takes approx. 120 minutes and is useful to pack all the energy possible into a given battery. If a problem is detected by the charger, a red LED will flash as shown in fig. 4. This indicates the battery will not be charged. All of the LED Charge Indicator lights will be green when batteries are finished charging. Unplug the charger from the outlet and remove the batteries from the charger.
