Standard PMBus™ Commands
All data communicated over the PMBus™ interface uses PEC (Packet Error Checking) as defined by the standard for PMBus™ Power Systems
Management Protocol Part 1 – General Requirements Rev 1.1.
Linear data formatting is used for all passed parameters. It is strongly recommended to fully utilize the PEC byte to validate all transactions and to
repeat if not validated. Block reads (where the loose byte received denotes the remaining byte to be clocked out) are not supported on this product
series. A minimum of 300µs delay between transactions (i.e. between current command STOP and next command START) is recommended for
robust communications.

Note: 100KHz I C communications is supported for the PMBus™ interface. These products also support 400KHz I C communication on the PMBus™
interface.
Note: The PMBus™ slave controller can “clock stretch” on ACK

There are two methods whereby the three lower order address bits of the seven bit address structure of the internal addressable devices can be
assigned (for the secondary microcontroller and the EEPROM device A0, A1 & A2; see the PMBus™ standard). These are as follows:
1. Using the ADDR signal pin (Pin# 27) in digital mode either by:
a. Unterminated (leaving open circuit); this will set a default setting of “111” for the last three addressable bits (A0, A1 & A2) of the seven
bit address byte.
b. Terminating the pin to RTN/ground (Pin numbers 1-13 and/or 52-64); this method will set a default address of “000”for the last three
addressable bits (A0, A1 & A2) of the address byte.
2. Using the ADDR signal pin (Pin# 27) in analogue mode by connection of an external resistance to RTN/ground (pin numbers
1-13 and/or 52-64).
For the possible external resistance values this will result in the following address combinations:
