Stereo Hi-fi DAC with 1W/Channel Speaker Driver
Hi-fi stereo DAC with integrated Class D speaker drivers,
delivering 1W per channel into 8Ω speakers.
The WM8956 delivers 1W per channel of high quality audio using filterless Class D technology.
This enables maximum efficiency, extends battery life, saves space and simplifies PCB design.
Integrated 24-bit DACs, headphone amplifiers and a highly flexible analogue input structure
provide a high level of integration for space-constrained portable applications.

The WM8956 is a stereo hi-fi DAC with stereo speaker and
headphone drivers for portable multimedia devices requiring
high quality at high output power and a longer battery life.

LONGER BATTERY LIFE, SMALL SIZE
Low leakage, excellent PSRR and fully internal signal boosting
enable direct connection to a lithium battery. This saves power,
maximises quality at high volume levels and reduces component
count. Class D technology provides high power output at high
levels of efficiency, extending battery life and simplifying PCB layout
and thermal management issues. A 5x5mm QFN package provides
a high level of integration and excellent thermal performance in a
small footprint.
REDUCED COMPONENT COUNT
Stereo headphone drivers support capless mode, further
reducing component count. Integrated pop and click
suppression mechanisms remove the need for external
speaker or headphone amplifiers.
