Management Process/Procedures Manual UBC Deficient Weight Policy AR-004 Rev 02 Date: 9/12/2013 Supersedes: 11/3/2011 Document Manager: Larry Dudak Approved by: Larry Dudak Note: This is considered an uncontrolled document unless it is being viewed on-line from the SharePoint or from a printed copy at one of the following controlled locations: NONE Page 2 of 4 Alcoa Recycling Revision Date: 9/11/2013 AR-004 Rev 02 TITLE: UBC Deficient Weight Policy 1.0 PURPOSE: The purpose of this quality policy is to clearly communicate the weight requirements using FOB shipping point terms for both truckload and railcar shipments of UBC (Used Beverage Containers) to Alcoa Recycling member companies facilities. 2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY: All Alcoa Recycling supplier locations 3.0 UBC Deficient Weight Policy Requirements The minimum acceptable weights for truckload and railcar shipments of UBC (Used Beverage Containers) are outlined below: Minimum Truckload Weight Minimum Railcar Weight UBC in Bale Form 38,000lbs 83,000lbs UBC in Densified Biscuit Form 40,000lbs 110,000lbs Product Deficient weight charges will apply when the gross weight minus the tare weight (before moisture and dunnage deductions) is less than the minimum weight shown above. For loads originating in Eastern States or provinces, the shipper will be charged $.040/lb. on the amount of deficient weight. For loads originating in Western States or provinces, the shipper will be charged $0.08/lb. on the amount of deficient weight.
