February 2008 Ref. CD267A NMK series News Release Isolated 2W single output DC/DC Converter sets new standards in efficiency and load regulation • 89% typical efficiency (15V output), 7% output voltage set point accuracy • Maximum load regulation 2.5% (15V output) • Wide choice of input and output voltages • 3kVDC isolation and power density to 1.33W/cm3 • Full 2W load performance across industrial temperature range The NMK series of isolated 2W single output DC/DC converters from Murata Power Solutions provides industry leading performance in a small footprint, pin compatible, industry standard SIP package that allows easy drop-in replacement of other devices. The NMK series also provides a straightforward power upgrade path from Murata Power Solutions’ existing 1W NMV series. Comprising eight models, the un-regulated NMK series offers designers a choice of 5V and 12V inputs and output voltages of 5V, 9V, 12V or 15V. Efficiency of 89% typical (at 15V output), an output voltage set point accuracy of 7%, and 2.5% (for a 15V output) maximum load regulation performance combine to give the NMK series industry-leading performance for converters of this type. The RoHS compliant NMK series offers 3kVDC isolation (for 1 minute) and power density of up to 1.33W/cm3. The new devices are able to maintain full 2W load performance across an industrial operating temperature range of 40ºC to +85ºC without any external heatsinking. The fully encapsulated UL 94V-0 approved package has an internal construction that uses advanced toroidal magnetics, and with no external components required, integration of the NMK series into existing designs is greatly simplified.
