Cutting Edge Cooling Facility
Phase Change Cooling Unit
COOLING UNIT TO REDUCE DATACENTER OPERATING COST
NEC’s Phase Change Cooling Unit is a very
innovative facility to support datacenters’
efficient operation. Coolant vaporizes exhaust
heat to move upward outside the datacenter.
Cooled and liquefied coolant returns to the
server racks to repeat circulation. The heat
can be removed from servers efficiently
without using electric power.

PHASE CHANGE COOLING UNIT
Advantages:
●Newly developed multiple heat exchangers effectively and evenly
remove the heat from each ICT device. The unit removes 50% of
exhaust heat from 30kW ICT devices.

●The coolant is safe and environmentally friendly and have no affect
on the human body.
●Coolant circulates through multiple heat exchangers installed on the
back of a rack and a plumbing attached on top to move heat
outside datacenter without electrical power.
●No periodic maintenance is required for the circulating system has
neither mechanical nor electrical parts and the coolant circulate in
the system almost permanently.
