1/6-Inch Native 1080p HD CameraChip™ Sensor
for Ultra-Compact Applications
The OV2722 is a 1/6-inch native 1080p high-definition
(HD) CameraChip sensor designed specifically for ultraportable applications, including smartphones, tablets,
notebooks and ultrabooks. The sensor utilizes
OmniVision's powerful OmniBSI+™ pixel architecture to
deliver improved sensitivity and image quality at a
module height of less than 3 mm.
Capable of capturing full field of view video, the
OV2722 delivers optimized image quality, sensitivity,
color reproduction and clarity. The sensor leverages
OmniVision's 1.4-micron OmniBSI+ pixel to deliver
significant performance improvements over first
generation OmniBSI™ technology. These include a
60 percent increase in full-well capacity, a 10 percent
increase in quantum efficiency and a 10 percent
improvement in low-light performance.
The OV2722 is designed to fit extremely thin modules
with a z-height of less than 3 mm while maintaining
pin-to-pin compatibility with its predecessor, making it
a drop-in upgrade solution for system designers. It
supports multiple platform architectures and
controllers with both parallel and MIPI interfaces.
Exposure control, white balance and defective pixel
canceling are programmable through the serial camera
control bus (SCCB) interface.
