For customers using revision B01, the change to revision B02 eliminates a potential issue when data is in the transmit FIFO and the host-side application closes and reopens the handle to the device. If this issue occurs, the device may no longer respond to USB commands and UART communication may not proceed. When the device enters this state, it can recover with a power-on reset, after which the device behaves normally. Datasheet revision 1.1 adds an additional orderable part number for revision B02 along with minor text edits. After the effective date of this PCN, Silicon Labs reserves the right to deliver CP2108-B02-GM to customers ordering CP2108-B01-GM. CP2108-B01-GM is not recommended for new designs.
