DESCRIPTION
PRODUCT COVERED:
USL, CNL - Control unit Model 7810iR-ent Internet Central Station
Receiver. The Model 7810iR-ent ("AlarmNet") Internet Central Station Receiver
when used with or without the separately Listed Model 685 digital receiver and
associated protected premises units in order to provide central station fire
for USL and burglar alarm service for USL/CNL. Can also provide PoliceConnect service. For Central Station Fire Alarm Service, the Model 7810iR-ent
must connect to a UL Listed Receiver/Central Station Automation System
(Protective Signaling Service) which automatically annunciates unrestored,
off-normal conditions during the 24 hour test report.
Models 7810iR-ent is NIST Certified for encryption and are used in conjunction
with models 7845i, 7845i-Ent, 8132 and 8142 premise equipment to provide
encrypted line security.
ENGINEERING CONSIDERATION:
General - The product covered by this Report forms a portion of the Alarm
Net I System. The unit allows the Listed 685 Receiver to connect to the
internet to receive alarm signals from Alarm Net I or may be utilized as a
stand alone Central Station Receiver. Remote Access features have not been
evaluated by UL. This unit is to be powered by an appropriately rated Listed
Commercial Fire Alarm Power Supply or UPS. See Installation Instructions for
Power Supply ratings.
Ratings - The 7810iR – ENT unit is rated as follows:
12.0 Vdc
400 mA
Component Servicing - All high-voltage parts within the units are
insulated to prevent unintentional contact by service personnel.
Evaluated in accordance with the following Standards:
1.
UL 864 Eighth ("Control Unit for Fire Protective Signaling
Systems").
2.
UL1610 (Central Station Alarm Units)
3.
UL 365 ("Police Station-Connected Burglar Alarm Units and System").
4.
CAN/ULC-S304-M88 - Standard for Central and Monitoring Station
Burglar Alarm Units.
5.
NFPA 70 ("National Electrical Code").
6.
NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm Code.
7.
In accordance with the requirements of the equipment installation
literature and installation wiring diagram.
8.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS:
General - The general product design, shape and arrangement shall conform
to that shown in the following photographs and associated descriptive pages,
and the general product construction shall adhere to the following guidelines
unless otherwise specifically indicated.
Corrosion Protection - All ferrous metal parts shall be painted, plated
or otherwise suitably coated to resist corrosion.
Internal Wiring - All internal wiring shall be Labeled Appliance Wiring
Material having 1/64 in. (0.04 mm) minimum insulation wall thickness or the
equivalent, rated 300 V minimum and a temperature rating consistent with the
intended operating environment. The wiring shall be arranged in an orderly
fashion, routed away from moving parts and sharp projections and held in place
with clamps, string ties or the equivalent unless of sufficient rigidity to
maintain a shaped form. All internal wiring shall be routed, cabled and
clamped as shown in the following photographs unless otherwise specifically
indicated.
Splice Connections - All splices and electrical connections shall be made
mechanically secure and bonded electrically by soldering or by the use of
Component Recognized splicing devices (wire connectors). A splice shall be
provided with insulation equivalent to that of the wires involved if
permanence of spacings between the splice and uninsulated metal parts is not
assured. (See Spacings.) Splices shall be located, enclosed and supported so
that the splice is not subject to damage, flexing, motion or vibration.
Solder Connections - All joints and connections shall be made
mechanically secure by twisting, bending, crimping or the like prior to
soldering.

Printed Wiring Boards - All printed wiring boards utilized in this
product shall be fabricated of Recognized Component Printed Wiring Material
(ZPMV2) having 1/16 in. (1.6 mm) nominal material thickness, a flammability
rating of min 94V-2 and an operating temperature rating of 105°C or greater.
If wave soldering techniques are employed, the solder bath temperature and
duration as specified in the Recognition for the particular material being
utilized shall not be exceeded.
MARKING:
General - All markings shall be plainly and permanently applied to a
location readily visible after installation. They may be on the outside of
the unit or may be behind a door or cover which may be opened or removed after
installation. All markings shall utilize Recognized Component Marking and
Labeling System Material (PGGU2).
Nameplate - Contains Listee's name or registered trademark, model number
designation, date code, reference to applicable NFPA Standards and reference
to installation wiring diagram by drawing number and/or issue date.
Controls - All user operated controls shall be adjacently marked to
indicate function and position.
Indicators - All visual indicators shall be adjacently marked to indicate
function (exception LED’s on right side of display are not utilized).
The following markings shall also be provided:
Electrical Ratings
“Terminals 1-9 are power limited”
“For dry, indoor use only.”
“Do not install in air-handling spaces”
“For wiring information, See instructions K9581V2”
Installation Wiring Terminals - The installation wiring terminals shall
be adjacently marked to correspond with the installation wiring diagram and
installation instructions unless complete installation instructions are
provided at the installation wiring terminals.
