Product Description:
Recombinant human BRD4 Bromodomain 2 (HUNK1,
accession number O60885, amino acids 341 to 470)
containing an N-terminal GST tag, expressed in E. coli.
BRD4 is a member of the BET sub-family of bromodomaincontaining proteins, which also includes BRD2, BRD3 and
BRDT. BET proteins have two bromodomains and an ET
domain C-terminal to the second bromodomain. BRD4
serves as a cofactor for Myc and is crucial to Myc’s role in
acute myeloid leukemia. Inhibition of BRD4 binding
suppresses Myc activity and leads to differentiation of AML
cells and elimination of AML stem cells.
Protein Gel Data: BRD4 Bromodomain 2 (1 µg) was
run on a PAGE gel and stained with Coomassie blue.
The migration and molecular weight of the protein
standards are indicated.
Recombinant GST-tagged protein at 1 mg/ml in 20 mM
Tris-HCl pH 8.0, 200 mM NaCl, 1 mM DTT, 20% glycerol.
Storage and Stability:
Stable for six months at -80°C from date of receipt. For
best results, aliquot and avoid multiple freeze/thaws.
Application Notes:
Recombinant BRD4 Bromodomain 2 is useful for protein
binding and screening experiments examining acetylated
protein substrates.

Lyophilized peptides are stable for 2 years at -20°C from
date of shipment. Peptides in solution are stable for 6
months at -80°C. Spin vial briefly in microfuge and
reconstitute with sterile distilled water and vortex briefly
until resuspended. Aliquot peptide to avoid repeated
freezing and thawing.
