Siemens offers a range of linear motors designed specifically for the needs of motion control applications.
Our motors are optimally harmonized to operate with the
SINAMICS S120 drive system.

We offer a comprehensive portfolio
Applications
The modular designed structure of SIMOTICS L-1FN3
provides a comprehensive variety of motors. You can make
the optimum choice to suit the available installation space.
Developed especially for use in machine tools, and
well-proven in this area, SIMOTICS L-1FN3
sets the standard. It is characterized by robust design and
thermal enclosure.
A total of 7 widths each with up to 5 different construction
length are available.
SIMOTICS L-1FN3 motors are available with several winding types, all harmonized to the SINAMICS S120 drive
system.
If required customer specific solutions can be designed
with help of application and mechatronic support services.
These services include for example dimensioning and
simulation.

Faster to the machine – faster to market
SIZER supports you with the dimensioning of our standard
motors and selection of the necessary drive components.
The configuring software includes a motor wizard. Starting
from the application, the software guides you step by step
through dimensioning your motor. The result is a list of all
the components along with the relevant order data.
Linear motors offer greater potential for enhancing
machine performance. However, high
machine performance can only be achieved if the machine
is designed for the integration of built-in motors as direct
drives from the outset.

CAD CREATOR
A presentation of technical specifications, dimension
sheets and CAD data – generated by the integrated tool
CAD CREATOR – can be loaded into the plant documentation very easily and be reused for the mechanical design
process.
With application and mechatronic support for motors,
Siemens supports the development of new machines from
the design stage through to machine acceptance tests with
the following services:
•Optimum selection and dimensioning of all
motor and control loop components
•Mechatronic analysis and simulation of machine designs
•Computer-assisted (finite-elemente-method) analysis
