Macronix has shrunk the die size from 0.25um to 0.13um in order to continue to offer our customers the most advanced and cost effective products. In order to achieve better performance, reliability, and cost structure, Macronix is introducing the “D” revision of 16Mb serial flash products on our advanced 0.13um technology. Samples are available now, and mass production is planned starting in January of 2008. The MX25L1605D device is identical in form, fit and function to the previous generation MX25L1605 product. Additional functions added in this version are - dual I/O read, secured 512-bit OTP and multiple write protection. However, the parallel mode programming feature and the additional 4Kb sector have been removed from this version since most customers were not utilizing these features in the last version.
