Temporary Deviation: Notification of removal of UL recognition mark on 154 series
U
Littelfuse Inc., regrets to inform you that the Nano 154 Series Omni-Blok® products with
manufacturing date code on or after Nov 9, 2009 has been shipped incorrectly with the UL
recognition logo on the product labels.
As a result of a change by UL on the regulation of the plastic material used in the 154 Series
holder, the UL approval for this product has been suspended temporarily. Effective Nov. 2009,
UL has mandated that all plastic material used in fuseholders have certain flammability rating.
Previously, this was a requirement for fuses only and not the associated fuseholder.
As a result, the fuseholder used in the 154 Series Omni-Blok® was no longer UL approved and
the UL recognition logo should have been removed from all product labels with date code on
or after Nov 9, 2009.
It is important to note that the performance and material of the product remain unchanged and
that UL suspension is only applicable to the fuseholder. The 451/452/453/454 Series fuse that
is used in the 154 Series Omni-Blok® remain UL approved.
We are working on obtaining UL approval for the 154 Series Omni-Blok® with a new plastic
material for the fuse holder. The removal of UL recognition mark is a temporary deviation. We
will implement the new plastic material and apply back the UL recognition mark on 154 series
as soon as we get UL’s approval.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience that this has caused. Please contact your local
Littelfuse representative if you have any additional questions.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best Regards,
Matthew Chan
