Powerline communication is the latest addition to Cypress portfolio of lighting solucitons. Cypress’s PowerPSoC®, the world’s first embedded power controller allows communication via DMX, DALI, and wireless. The programmability of PowerPSoC allows a bootloader to reprogram through any supported communication interface, such as I2C, SPI, and UART. Embedded User Application PSOC Programmable Resources Powerline Network Protocol Powerline FSK Modem PHY AC/DC Powerline DMX512 and DALI interfaces are supported using Coupling Circuit (110V - 240V AC, 12V - 24V AC/DC, etc.) preconfigured, precharacterized user modules to enable rapid design and deployment. PowerPSoC implements a DMX receiver via an external RS-485 Powerline transceiver and supports the latest entertainment specifications, with a 250 Kbps bit rate and a Powerline Communication block diagram 44 Hz refresh rate. The DALI implementation also requires an external interface circuit and supports the commands specified in IEC 62386 in Powerline Communication Solution firmware. Embedded User Application In situations where hard-wiring is not an option, Cypress offers a 2.4 GHz wireless solution.
