The following modifications to this release notes document have been made relative
to the note provided with the CodeWarrior for Power Architecture Service Pack 1:
Date
October 30th, 2014
November 20th,2014
Description
Initial revision.
Small corrections and updates.
2 Download and Installation Information
CodeWarrior for Power Architecture Service Packs are cumulative.
While internally we reference them with Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2, Service
Pack n, in order to keep track of the timeline, in fact Service Pack 2 is incorporating
all the features available in Service Pack 1. That is reflected by its name which is not
Service Pack 2 but rather Cumulative Service Pack.
Installing it on top of the previous Service Pack 1 installation will bring the
product up to date adding the new NPIs. Installing it directly on top of CW 10.4 will
incorporate both SP1 and SP2 features and so on.
For this particular release, following are the names of the archives:
 Windows:
o com.freescale.pa10.4.0.NPIsupport.win.updatesite_1.5.0.zip
 Linux:
o com.freescale.pa10.4.0.NPIsupport.lin.updatesite_1.5.0.zip
CodeWarrior for Power Architecture Service Packs can be obtained:
 Through the built-in updater facility (Recommended Method)

As a stand-alone package downloadable from the following link:
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=CWPA&tid=CWH
A detailed, step-by-step procedure for installing a Service Pack on top of the base
product can be consulted at the following link:
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=CWPA&tid=CWH
NOTE: Installation of a Service Pack requires a working installation of the base
product CodeWarrior for Power Architecture v10.4. and administrative privileges for
either Windows or Linux host operating systems.

5 Important Usage Notes
5.1 Known Issues
The following issues and limitations are specific to the support provided in this
service pack:
 USB TAPs and Ethernet TAPs were discontinued in support by Freescale in
2012. They have been fully replaced by CodeWarrior TAP (with connection
over USB and/or Ethernet).
For existing SoCs and boards where this support is already available it will
continue to be available. For all future SoCs only CodeWarrior TAP (CWTAP)
will be supported, replacing USB and Ethernet TAPs.
Currently T1024 QDS/RDB, T1040 QDS/RDB and T2080 QDS/RDB are
having support only for CodeWarrior TAP.
