Chapter 1 Overview
1 Overview
INTRODUCTION TO TFT-DISPLAY BOARD
1.1
Abstract
The ADA-DISP2MULTIIO-001 is a graphic and display application to demonstrate the 2D
graphic display controller (GDC) of FCR4 Cluster Series. It can be used e.g. with the
MB9EF126 (Calypso) and MB9DF126 (Atlas) evaluation board for software development
and testing.
With the ADA-DISP2MULTIIO-001 it is possible to connect TFT display to evaluation board.
The adapter board ADA-FCR4-MULTIOIO-001 extends the both evaluation boards SKMB9EF-120-001 / SK-MB9DF-120-001 with several interfaces like e.g. cluster and LCD
display connection.
The board allows the designer immediately to start with the software development before a
final target system is available.

Set-up of Interconnection
Disconnect the MCU board (SK-MB9EF-120-001 / SK-MB9DF-120-001) and MuiltiIO board
(ADA-FCR4-MULTIIO-001) from USB and external power supply. Select the correct voltage
supply for 12V main supply and 5V/3V MCU supply. For detailed description of configuration
evaluation system refer to user guide of MCU board and MultiIO board.

Figure 5: Connection of Display board to MultiIO board
General the ADA-DISP2MULTIIO-001 needs two different supply voltages, one for the 3.3V
TFT-Display and other one 27V/10-15mA for the LED-Backlighting. The FCR4 MCU board
and MultiIO board support the required 27V / 12V / 5V / 3.3V / 1.2V power supplies.
Use the development environment or serial Flash programming tool to program the Cluster
demo software into FCR4 Family MCU (e.g. Calypso / Atlas).

Chapter 2 Installation
More details to Tools and Software can be found on the following Internet page:
http://mcu.emea.fujitsu.com/
Connect the two ribbon cables of Cluster board to the assigned connector of MultiIO board
(DISPLAY cable to DISPLAY-out connector) and check the correct position of pin 1 (red
label of ribbon cable).
For the correct position of the tow ribbon cables see also Figure 5.
Note:
2.4
Please check the correct connection of the one ribbon cables to the MultiIO board
to prevent damages of evaluation system. The interfaces of evaluation system are
unprotected against swap any cables.
Digital power supply
The Display board (ADA-DISP2MULTIIO-001) is designed for using together with the MultiIO
board (ADA-FCR4-MULTIIO-001) and MCU board (SK-MB9EF-120-001 / SK-MB9DF-120001), it gets its several power supply from the MCU board, otherwise external power
supplies have to be applied at the CLUSTER and DISPLAY connector. For detailed pin
description, refer to Table 1 – 7.
Table 1 shows all relevant power supplies and current consumption (typ.) of the ADADISP2MULTIIO-001. Check these power supplies before powering the board.
