5016-Series Fiber-Transceiver
Applications
Radar testing/calibration
Signal processing
The 5016-Series transceiver line delivers unmatched performance for
radar testing, signal processing, phased antenna array, and phase
noise testing when used in conjunction with the 355A Fiber-optic Delay
Line and when used as a standalone product it serves as a high
dynamic range transceiver for Microwave applications. These rugged
devices eliminate many of the problems that are inherent in alternative
delay line technologies including acoustic wave devices and coaxial
delay lines.
Cellular and PCS networks
Ortel’s fiber-optic transceivers provide bandwidth that is essentially
independent of fiber length, loss or delay, and triple transit signals that
are immeasurable. In addition to enhanced electrical performance, the
delay lines provide several mechanical advantages. Ortel’s technology
takes advantage of the rigid yet flexible properties of fiber-optic cable to
provide repeatable enhanced phase and group delay characteristics.
Military triband
communications
The small size of these components allows for a long delay in a
compact package with the superior temperature stability of fiber.

Absolute Maximum Ratings
Stresses in excess of the absolute maximum ratings can cause permanent damage to the device. These are
absolute stress ratings only. Functional operation of the device is not implied at these or any other conditions in
excess of those given in the operational sections of the data sheet. Exposure to absolute maximum ratings for
extended periods can adversely affect device reliability.
