Connect the part any way round and press test. The part type is identified (Triac or Thyristor), the pinout is identified and the gate sensitivity is displayed in 1 of 9 sensitivity categories as well as gate voltage. Suitable for parts that require a gate trigger current from less than 100uA up to 90mA. Load tests are performed with an internally generated load of 12V at 100mA, all from a single AAA alkaline battery (supplied). Not designed for in-circuit use.
