It provides a header with all the interface signals necessary to operate the sensor from your host board. A second header provides an interface to an optional frame grabber PCI card which quickly installs into any available PCI slot in most Pentium-class computers running Windows 95/98/2000/NT or XP. All the features of the PixelCam sensor can be easily utilized with the software included with the frame grabber PCI card. A single convenient cable (not included) provides power, control, and image flow between the camera module and the computer. The frame grabber card plugs into any standard PCI slot found on desktop computers. When used with the proper version of the PIXCI-D2X card, the XCAP software will automatically detect the ZR732312 QuickStart developer board and program all of the sensor’s SMBus registers. Power is also provided through the SCSI-3 cable. No additional connections are necessary. Any standard 68-pin SCSI-3 type cable can be used to connect the ZR732312 to the EPIX PIXCI-D 2X. Ribbon type cables (e.g. internal SCSI-3 drive cables) work fine for short connections, but a twisted pair cable is recommended for connections greater than 6 feet.
