AMD Media SDK v1.0 Beta Release Notes 1 Overview The AMD Media SDK is a software package that provides high-level multimedia framework components and libraries, allowing developers to leverage the AMD platform for media processing. The Media SDK v1.0 Beta release provides the following components. • Media Foundation Transforms (MFTs) for video encoding and decoding. • Video Quality (VQ) MFT for video pre- and post-processing. • AMF-DEM library for low-latency video capture and encode. • Transcoding with support for Scalable Video Coding (SVC). • Optimized sample applications for targeted use cases. 2 OS Support AMD Media SDK v1.0 Beta supports the following platforms. • Microsoft® Windows® 7 (32- and 64-bit). • Microsoft® Windows® 8 (32- and 64-bit). The AMD MFTs can be leveraged in Windows 8 Store applications. 3 Device Support AMD Media SDK v1.0 Beta supports the following devices. • Kabini, Temash, and Richland APUs • Cape Verde, Tahiti, and Bonaire discrete GPUs The following table lists the supported architectures and validated platforms for individual samples. SI stands for the Southern Islands family of devices. NI stands for the Northern Islands family of devices.
