Select a reduction ratio suitable for the output speed of the motor and the speed of the machine used together with the motor. There is a limit to the strength of a gear due to its material and construction. The usable load torque determined based on this limit is called permissible torque. As can be seen from the above-mentioned formula, the load becomes larger when the reduction ratio is increased. If the gear head is used with the load exceeding the permissible torque, its life expectancy will be shortened significantly.
