The PT121xxL version has tape around the winding only. This tape covers the core, but does not provide support of the leads, which are aligned parallel to each other in opposing notches in the bottom section of the core. The PT121xxSL version has shrink-tube around the entire core, top-to-bottom, and covers the winding. The shrink-tube provides more support for the leads by enclosing them in the notches of the core. As of May 1, 2006, the PT121xxSL will be the only version of Model PT121 that will be available. The electrical properties of the PT121xxSL series are IDENTICAL to those of the PT121xxL series. The diameter of the PT121xxSL (10.15 mm) is a maximum of 2.15 mm greater than the diameter of the PT121xxL (8.00 mm). Outline drawings of the two series are shown below.
