They are especially suited for outdoor environments where dust, water, other containments, or simply a lack of cleaning procedures present issues for standard physical contact connector. These cables require no cleaning in normal use. Winchester can configure and assemble cable assemblies using any supported connector combined with the appropriate fiber or hybrid fiber assembly. This is a perfect replacement for TAC-4 or TAC-12 physical contact cables used in military or broadcast applications as they will provide years of troublefree service. EL-TAC-6 cable provides 6 expanded beam connections and a tactical fiber cable that is crush-proof and has a tensile load capability of over 300 lbs. The strain relief system provides full waterproofing to IP68 to ensure operation even when fully immered in water.
