Shaft generator and booster plants –
the generations
Since decades Siemens shaft generator
plants have been set in operation on
more than 200 vessels worldwide.
Between 1967 and 2007, Siemens got
orders for altogether 277 three-phase
shaft motor plants.
1st generation
Individually adapted shaft generator plants
according to the state-of-the-art of power
electronics of those days.
2nd generation
Standardized three-phase shaft generator
plants featuring modular design invented in
power electronics with analog control.
FRECON (Frequency Controlled)
Three-phased shaft generator plants with a
high-speed induction machine as generator
and a voltage-controlled converter in the
rotor circuit.
3rd generation
Standardized three-phase shaft generator
plants featuring modular design invented in
power electronics with entirely digital open
and closed-loop control system.
4th generation
Based on SIMOVERT “S” drive system.
Enabled for PTI/PTO function.

SISHIPCIS –
Completely Integrated
Solutions for Vessels
Horizontal Integration
Vertical Integration
Life Cycle Integration
As a comprehensive industry-specific
solution for seagoing vessels, our SISHIPCIS
product family integrates all the products
and services you need for sustained maximization of your ship’s performance.
For each particular task, a solution has been
defined that
horizontally improves all of your ship’s
operations
vertically integrates the ship’s information
and security management end-to-end,
helping to make better-founded decisions
and, at the same time, is designed for
optimal vessel-specific maintenance and
comes with assured further development
over the whole life cycle
Due to this unique combination of horizontal, vertical and life cycle dimensions, our
solutions all carry the genes of an exhaustive and sustained plant productivity in their
very core.
For More Efficiency. More Performance.
More Power.
Completely Integrated Solutions
