Precautions for the use of Detect switch
1. General information:
This guideline provides general information about the handling of our
Detect switches.
2. Recommend soldering profiles
2.1
Recommend soldering profiles for SMT parts
Please download our Hot-Air Reflow standard profile from our
website under the following link:

-All our products are proven and tested by Wuerth Elektronik
soldering test standard.
-Our parts are proven based on 1 side PCB with 1.6mm
thickness and a solder paste thickness of 150µm
-When soldering, set the actuator on the release position.

-All our products are proven and tested by Wuerth Elektronik
soldering test standard.
-Our parts are proven based on 1 side PCB with 1.6mm
thickness and a solder paste thickness of 150µm
-When soldering, set the actuator on the release position.
Recommendation for hand soldering:
350°C for 3 sec. max
Please take care, that the flame does not get in touch with the
plastic materials, it can cause melting and result in malfunction.
2.3
Recommendation of vapor phase soldering
Our Detect Switch Products are not qualified via VPH.
Qualification of usability must be approved on customer side for
this process, gladly with free samples offered by Wuerth
Elektronik.
2.4
Cleaning, Washing and Coating
Our Detect Switch are non-washable series and can not be
coated.
Parts out of this series are not construed for washing and
cleaning, so washing/cleaning can cause the inflow of flux, water,
liquid or other particles and cause the malfunction afterwards.
If our product is potted in customer applications, the potting
material might shrink during and after hardening. Accordingly to
this the product is exposed to the pressure of the potting material
with the effect that the product is possibly damaged by this
pressure and so the electrical as well as the mechanical
characteristics are endanger to be affected. After the potting
material is cured, the products needs to be checked if any
malfunction or destructions on the product have occurred.

3. Handling of the component
Please set a delay time according to our define bounce.
Do not repeatedly operate the switch with excessive force , it could
cause damage or deformation of the contacts and result in
malfunction.
Our strength test is tested or performed according to the 500gf with
strait vertical force and with max. load defined in the specification on
the switch. Our measurement point is based on total travel position.
By Designing, the switch in different distances may have different
result.
Design the operation distance so, so that it can reach the height
3.2mm or lower at least. Recommend is to design the switch so, that
the operation point can reach the total travel position.
Please operate our switch only from the direction, which is draw in the
specification. Otherwise it may can cause malfunction or shorten the
life of the switch.
Do not apply an excessive electrical load to the contacts, otherwise the
contacts may weld, resulting in a short circuit or burning.
Do not stack the printed circuit board that have the switches mounted
on them. The vertical pressure may cause the damage to the switch.
Please avoid using our switch in heavy, outer environments or
environments with extremely density of chemicals or gas.

5. Packaging
Our SMD parts are generally packed on tape on reel.
Our THT parts are generally packed in bulk/tube .

specification.
