AOZ8212 Two-line Bi-directional TVS Diode General Description Features The AOZ8212 is a two-line bi-directional transient voltage suppressor diode designed to protect voltage sensitive electronics from high transient conditions and ESD. z ESD protection for high-speed data lines: AOZ8212CI-05L – Exceeds: IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) ± 30 kV (air), ± 30 kV (contact) – Human Body Model (HBM) ± 30 kV This device incorporates two TVS diodes in a small SOT-23 package. It may be used to meet the ESD immunity requirements of IEC 61000-4-2, Level 4 (± 15 kV air, ± 8 kV contact discharge). – IEC 61000-4-5 (Lightning) 9 A (8/20 µs) AOZ8212CI-12 The AOZ8212 comes in a SOT-23 package and is rated over a -40 °C to +85 °C ambient temperature range. The small SOT-23 package makes the AOZ8212 ideal for applications where PCB space is a premium. The small size and high ESD protection is ideal for protecting voltage sensitive electronics from high transient conditions and ESD. – Exceeds: IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) ± 30 kV (air), ± 30 kV (contact) – Human Body Model (HBM) ± 30 kV – IEC 61000-4-5 (Lightning) 5 A (8/20 µs) AOZ8212CI-24 – Exceeds: IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) ± 18 kV (air), ± 15 kV (contact) – Human Body Model (HBM) ± 15 kV – IEC 61000-4-5 (Lightning) 2.5A (8/20 µs) Applications z Small package saves board space z Portable handheld devices z IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT) ± 40A z Keypads, data lines, buttons z Low insertion loss z Notebook computers z Low clamping voltage z Digital Cameras z Low operating voltages: 5 V, 12 V, 24 V z Portable GPS z MP3 players Typical Application Pin Configuration I/O1 1 I/O2 1 2 3 2 SOT-23 3 (Top View) Bidirection Protection of Two Lines Rev. 1.0 December 2010 www.aosmd.com Page 1 of 6 AOZ8212 Ordering Information Part Number Ambient Temperature Range Package Environmental -40 °C to +85 °C SOT-23A Green Product AOZ8212CI-05L AOZ8212CI-12 AOZ8212CI-24 AOS Green Products use reduced levels of Halogens, and are also RoHS compliant.
