Product Overview
Two visible signals for multiple applications from one device
System Sensor’s SpectrAlert Dual Strobe notification appliance is designed to
accommodate unique signaling applications where two stage notification is required.
Meets unique applications where
combinations of amber and red lens
colors are required
Flexibility. The SpectrAlert Dual Strobe line incorporates two visible notification
Strobes may be powered over a two or
four wire circuit
75 candela output per UL 1638
Low current draw
Mounts to single gang and four square
back boxes
Field-reversible strobes for left- or rightmounting

appliances, to accommodate those applications where a two stage alarm system
or two distinct visible signals are required. Available in white or red housings
and a variety of colored lens options, SpectrAlert Dual Strobes allow a user to
customize visible notification for both fire and non-fire applications including
pre-action alarms, security, tornado alert, evacuation, etc.
Performance. Based upon the principles of the original SpectrAlert wall mount
strobes, the Dual Strobe models operate at 24 volts, and provide 75 candela output per UL 1638. The strobes may either be powered in tandem over a two wire
circuit or independently over a four wire circuit.
Installation. Like all SpectrAlerts, the Dual Strobes offer installation ease and
flexibility. These models are typically mounted to a single gang back box.
Using the mounting bracket provided, four square back box mounting is also
accommodated.
Customization. SpectrAlert Dual Strobes provide the flexibility to customize the
product in the field. If desired, the strobe modules can be field-reversed, for left
or right-mounting of each colored strobe. Multiple labeling options are provided, including FIRE, ALERT, EVAC and EVACUATE, to designate the
specific function for each strobe.
Engineering Specification
Dual strobe shall be a System Sensor SpectrAlert model ________ listed to UL 1638 for fire protective signaling systems. Strobes
shall have an operating temperature between 32°F and 120°F. Strobes shall have the option of being powered over a two or
four wire circuit. When powered over two wires, strobes shall be activated by reversing the circuit’s polarity. When powered
over four wires, the factory installed jumpers must be removed. Strobes shall operate at 24VDC, with a UL range rating of 20
to 30VDC. Actual operating voltage must be between 16 and 33 VDC. Strobes shall be available in a lens color combination of
amber and red and shall have a minimum light output of 75 candela. Strobes shall be UL 1638 listed.
