Check your antenna to be certain the antenna resonant frequency range and your radio are compatible. Plan the mounting location on the ground plane. Be certain to choose a flat area on the vehicle with a metal thickness of 0.20” to 0.40” Drill a 5/8” diameter hole and remove a 0.020” diameter ring of paint from the around the hole to enable a firm ground connection. Insert the antenna threaded shaft through the hole in the metal surface. Insert the lock washer and thread the locking nut onto the antenna shaft and be certain that the o-ring is in the groove of antenna bush before tightening. Tighten to 5-6 Nm of torque. A light application of silicone grease to the o-ring will prevent the o-ring from binding. When finished, inspect for a proper bottom O-ring seal. This will prevent water leaking into the mount and perhaps into the machine/vehicle. PRECAUTION The antenna should be mounted on the desired location before FUNCTIONING. This is to ensure that not damage antenna during the mounting of the antenna.
