User’s Guide DV25 Dual Range AC Voltage Detector + Flashlight Safety Operating Instructions WARNING: Risk of Electrocution. Before use, always test the Voltage Detector on a known live circuit to verify proper operation WARNING: Risk of Electrocution. Keep hands and fingers on the body of the probe and away from the probe tip CAUTION: Read, understand and follow Safety Rules and Operating Instructions in this manual before using this product. Do not attempt to repair this unit. There are no user serviceable parts. Do not expose the unit to extreme temperatures or high humidity Do not use the unit if it is wet or damaged Do not apply more than the rated voltage between the probe tip and ground. Do not operate with the case open This symbol, adjacent to another symbol or terminal, indicates the user the user must refer to the manual for further information. This symbol, adjacent to a terminal, indicates that, under normal use, hazardous voltages may be present AC VOLTAGE DETECTION 1. For low voltage testing (24 to 100V), press and hold the 24V button (5). For standard electrical work (>100V, this is not necessary. 2. Touch the probe tip (7) to the hot conductor or insert into the hot side of the electrical outlet. 3. If AC voltage is present, the detector cone will illuminate (6) and the detector will beep. NOTE: The conductors in electrical cord sets are often twisted. For best results, rub the probe tip along a length of the cord to assure placing the tip in close proximity to the live conductor. NOTE: The detector is designed with high sensitivity. Static electricity or other sources of energy may randomly trip the sensor. This is normal operation. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 FLASHLIGHT Press and hold the flashlight ON/OFF button (2) to turn on the flashlight (1).
