EV2496M-R-00A 2.5A, 36V, Frequency Selectable Step-Down Converter with Singel USB Charging Port The Future of Analog IC Technology PRELIMINARY SPECIFICATIONS SUBJECT TO CHANGE DESCRIPTION FEATURES The EV2496M-R-00A Evaluation Board is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of MPS’ MP2496M. MP2496M integrates a monolithic step-down switch mode converter and one USB current limit switch with charging port identification circuit. It achieves 2.5A continuous output current over a wide input supply range with excellent load and line regulation. The output of USB switch is current limited. MP2496M provides a USB Dedicate Charging Port (DCP) which supports Battery Charging Specification 1.2 (BC1.2), the Divider Mode, and 1.2V/1.2V Mode without the need of outside user interaction. Connect the positive and negative terminals of the load to the USB and GND pins, respectively. 2. Preset the power supply output between 7V and 36V, and then turn off the power supply. 3. Connect the positive and negative terminals of the power supply output to the VIN and GND pins, respectively. 4. Turn the power supply on. The board will automatically start up. 5. To use the Enable function, apply a digital input to the EN pin. Drive EN higher than 2V to turn on the regulator or less than 1V to turn it off.
