The liquid cryst al display device panel used in t he liquid cryst al display module is made of plat e glass. Avoid any st rong mechanical shock. Should t he glass break handle it wit h care 2. The polarizer adhering t o t he surface of t he LCD is made of a soft mat erial. Guard against scrat ching it . 2) Care of t he liquid cryst al display module against st at ic elect ricit y discharge. 1. When working wit h t he module, be sure t o ground your body and any elect rical equipment you may be using. We st rongly recommend t he use of ant i st at ic mat s ( made of rubber ), t o protect work t ables against t he hazards of elect rical shock. 2. Avoid t he use of work clot hing made of synt het ic fibers. We recommend cott on clot hing or other conduct ivit y- t reat ed fibers. 3. Slowly and carefully remove t he prot ect ive film from t he LCD module, since t his operat ion can generat e st at ic elect ricit y. 3) When t he LCD module alone must be st ored for long periods of t ime: 1. Protect t he modules from high t emperat ure and humidit y. 2. Keep t he modules out of direct sunlight or direct exposure t o ult raviolet rays. 3. Protect t he modules from excessive ext ernal forces. 4) Use t he module wit h a power supply t hat is equipped wit h an overcurrent protect or circuit , since t he module is not provided wit h t his protect ive feat ure. 5) Do not ingest t he LCD fluid it self should it leak out of a damaged LCD module. Should hands or clot hing come in cont act wit h LCD fluid, wash immediat ely wit h soap. 6) Conduct ivit y is not guarant eed for models t hat use met al holders where solder connect ions bet ween t he met al holder and t he PCB are not used. Please cont act us t o discuss appropriat e ways t o assure conduct ivit y. 7) For models which use CFL: 1. High volt age of 1000V or great er is applied t o t he CFL cable connect or area. Care should be t aken not t o t ouch connect ion areas t o avoid burns. 2. Protect CFL cables from rubbing against t he unit and t hus causing t he wire jacket t o become worn. 3.The use of CFLs for ext ended periods of t ime at low t emperat ures will significant ly short en t heir service life. 8) For models which use t ouch panels: 1.Do not st ack up modules since t hey can be damaged by component s on neighboring modules. 2.Do not place heavy object s on t op of t he product . This could cause glass breakage. 9) For models which use COG,TAB,or COF: 1.The mechanical st rengt h of t he product is low since t he IC chip faces out unprotect ed from t he rear. Be sure t o protect t he rear of t he IC chip from ext ernal forces. 2.Given t he fact t hat t he rear of t he IC chip is left exposed, in order t o protect t he unit from elect rical damage, avoid installat ion configurat ions in which t he rear of t he IC DMC- 50747NF- AK (AK) No. 2001- 0124 OPTREX CORPORATION Page 16/ 17 chip runs t he risk of making any elect rical cont act . 10) Models which use flexible cable, heat seal, or TAB: 1.In order t o maintain reliabilit y, do not t ouch or hold by t he connect or area. 2.Avoid any bending, pulling, or other excessive force, which can result in broken connect ions. 10.War r ant y This product has been manufact ured t o your company’ s specificat ions as a part for use in your company’ s general elect ronic product s. It is guarant eed t o perform according t o delivery specificat ions. For any ot her use apart from general elect ronic equipment , we cannot t ake responsibilit y if t he product is used in medical devices, nuclear power cont rol equipment , aerospace equipment , fire and securit y syst ems, or any other applicat ions in which t here is a direct risk t o human life and where ext remely high levels of reliabilit y are required. If t he product is t o be used in any of t he above applicat ions, we will need t o ent er into a separat e product liabilit y agreement . 1. We cannot accept responsibilit y for any defect , which may arise from addit ional manufact uring of t he product (including disassembly and reassembly), aft er product delivery. 2. We cannot accept responsibilit y for any defect , which may arise aft er t he applicat ion of st rong ext ernal force t o t he product . 3. We cannot accept responsibilit y for any defect , which may arise due t o t he applicat ion of st at ic elect ricit y aft er t he product has passed your company’ s accept ance inspect ion procedures. 4. When t he product is in CFL models, CFL service life and bright ness will vary according t o t he performance of t he invert er used, leaks, et c. We cannot accept responsibilit y for product performance, reliabilit y, or defect , which may arise. 5. We cannot accept responsibilit y for int ellect ual propert y of a t hird part y, which may arise t hrough t he applicat ion of our product t o your assembly wit h except ion t o t hose issues relat ing direct ly t o t he st ruct ure or met hod of manufact uring of our product . 6.
