The 3CPX5000A7 high-mu triode is designed for use as a cathode driven Class AB pulsed power amplifier and as a switch tube in cathode or grid driven service. The tube does not require a socket as it is designed to bolt directly to the chassis be means of the grid flange. Cathode and heater connections are made by bolting directly to the amplifier circuitry. These features reduce equipment cost and complexity.
