User’s Guide Model DV30 AC VOLTAGE DETECTOR Safety Precautions 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Improper use of this meter can cause damage, shock, injury or death. Read this guide before use. Secure any covers or battery doors before use. Inspect the condition of the meter for any damage before use. Remove the batteries from the meter if the meter is to be stored for long periods. For Indoor use International Safety Symbols Refer to the user’s guide for information. Hazardous voltages may be present Double insulation Operation WARNING: Risk of Electrocution. Before use, always test the Detector on a known live circuit to verify proper operation. NOTE on RF Interference: RF signals in close proximity to the detector may cause the voltage light and beeper to latch into a constant tone and light indication. Wait until the RF signal has disappeared before proceeding with voltage detection. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Turn the On/Off-Sensitivity switch (2) clockwise to turn the unit on. Set the Sensitivity adjustment (2) to the high (counterclockwise) position If the detector begins to beep/flash (1), slowly reduce the sensitivity (clockwise) until the beep stops. Move the detector voltage sensor (1) near the conductor until the tip flashes and beeper sounds. Slowly adjust the sensitivity (2) and reduce the distance between the sensor and conductor to pinpoint and identify the conductor. Battery Replacement 1. 2. Turn power OFF and release the end cap latch from the pocket clip and slide out the battery compartment (3). Replace the four LR44 batteries and replace the battery compartment.
