RON is 4Ω typical Low bit-to-bit skew: 200ps Low crosstalk: –90dB @ 250MHz Low Current Consumption: 20µA Near Zero propagation delay: 250ps Switching speed: 9ns Channel On capacitance: 6pF (typical) VCC Operating Range: +3.0V to +3.6V ESD>2000V . . . Human Body Model >350 MHz bandwidth (or data frequency) Packages (Pb-free available): 48-pin 240 mil wide plastic TSSOP (A) 48-pin 173 mil wide plastic TVSOP (K) The PI3L301D is a 16- to 8-bit multiplexer/demultiplexer LAN Switch with Hi-Z outputs. Industry leading advantages include a propagation delay of less than 250ps, resulting from its low channel resistance and I/O capacitance. The device multiplexes differential outputs from a Gigabit Ethernet transceiver (PHY) device to one of two corresponding B1 or B2 outputs. The switch is bidirectional and offers little or no attenuation of the high-speed signals at the outputs. It is designed for low bit-to-bit skew, high channel-to-channel noise isolation and is compatible with various standards, such as 10/100/1000 Base-T (Ethernet). Generally, this part can be used to replace mechanical relays in low-voltage LAN applications that interface a physical layer over CAT 5 or CAT 6 unshielded twisted pair cable through an isolation transformer. Applications • Dual Physical Layer Device sharing to one interface connector • SONET OC-12(622Mbps) signal routing • Routes physical layer signals for 10/100/1000 Mbit Ethernet Pin Description Logic Block Diagram A0 A1 0B1 1B1 2B1 3B1 A6 A7 48 2 47 0B1 1B1 GND A1 3 4 46 GND 45 GND VDD 5 44 0B2 1B2 43 A2 6 7 8 GND 9 10 11 12 13 39 38 A3 GND VDD 2B2 3B2 A4 A5 1 A0 GND 0B2 1B2 A2 A3 VDD GND NC 4B1 5B1 4B2 5B2 A4 GND A5 6B1 7B1 6B2 7B2 1 17 GND 18 VDD 19 GND 20 A6 GND 21 22 A7 23 24 SEL SEL 14 15 16 42 GND 2B1 41 3B1 40 GND 2B2 3B2 37 GND 36 35 VDD 34 33 5B1 32 31 30 4B2 29 28 6B1 27 26 GND 25 7B2 4B1 GND 5B2 GND 7B1 6B2 PS8665A 06/13/03 PI3L301D 3.3V, 16-Bit to 8-Bit, Mux/Demux Gigabit Ethernet LAN Switch with Single Enable Maximum Ratings Truth Table (Above which useful life may be impaired. For max. or min. conditions, use appropriate value speciÞed under Electrical Characteristics for the applicable device type. 2. Guaranteed by design. 3. The bus switch contributes no propagational delay other than the RC delay of the ON-resistance of the switch and the load capacitance. The time constant for the switch alone is of the order of 0.25ns for 10pF load. Since this time constant is much smaller than the rise/fall times of typical driving signals, it adds very little propagational delay to the system. Propagational delay of the bus switch when used in a system is determined by the driving circuit on the driving side of the switch and its interactions with the load on the driven side. 4 PS8665A 06/13/03 PI3L301D 3.3V, 16-Bit to 8-Bit, Mux/Demux Gigabit Ethernet LAN Switch with Single Enable Test Circuit for Electrical Characteristics(1) 6.0V VCC 200Ω Pulse Generator VIN VOUT D.U.T 10pF CL RT 200Ω Notes: 1. Power-Supply Sequencing Proper power-supply sequencing is advised for all CMOS devices. It is recommended to always apply VCC before applying signals to the input/output or control pins.
