Single Layer Varistors VC32 Series GENERAL DESCRIPTION The VC32 Series offers the designer a surface mount solution with higher voltage ratings and transient energy ratings than typical multi-layer varistors (MLVs). Think of this series as surface mountable MOVs. This series, based on our proven zinc oxide formulation, operates from -55ºC to 125ºC. Additionally, the top and bottom surfaces of the chip are protected with a glass coating. APPLICATIONS • MOV (Radial) Replacement • Suppression of transient on line voltage • Electric Meters • Industrial Equipment • Mains PSUs • Telecommunications • Consumer Electronics W L PART DIMENSIONS T L W 7.90 - 8.51 4.70 - 5.26 (0.311 - 0.335) (0.185 - 0.207) t mm (inches) T t 2.03 MAX (0.080 MAX) 0.40 - 1.30 (0.016 - 0.051) PART SPECIFICATIONS Part No. V1mA (nominal) Vrms Vdc VC32M01750K-VC32M00231K-VC32M00251K-VC32M02750K-VC32M00301K-- V 270 360 390 430 470 V 175 230 250 275 300 V 225 300 330 368 385 Leakage Maximum Current Clamping (max. µA) Voltage (80/20µs) µA 200 50 50 50 50 Vp (V) 455 595 650 710 775 Ip (A) 10 10 10 10 10 Maximum peak current (8/20µs) lp(A) 2 Surge 200 200 200 200 200 10 Surge 100 100 100 100 100 20 Surge 80 80 80 80 80 Maximum Typical absorption capacitance (10/1000µs) 1kHz/0.5V 100 Surge 50 50 50 50 50 J 15.0 20.0 21.0 23.0 23.0 pF 135 100 90 80 70 HOW TO ORDER M0 0251 K -- Type Series VC3220 M = General Applications AC Operating Voltage Tolerance of 1mA Packaging Suffix EIA Coding e.g. 0251 = 250VAC K = 10% -- = Bulk BG = Tape and Reel VC32 RoHS COMPLIANT Pb: Free PACKAGING A Section A-A T Tape Dimensions P0 P2 W F E D0 G B0 Cover tape K0 T2 A D1 A0 P1 Direction of unreeling Reel A -0 12.75 +0.15 ø62 ±1.5 W1 Direction of unreeling W2 Tape Size 16 (0.630) VC32 5.3 x 8.7 A0 x B0 (0.209 x 0.043) K0 2.50 (0.098) T2 3.00 (0.118) T 0.30 (0.012) D0 1.50 (0.059) D1 1.50 (0.059) P0 4.00 (0.157) P2 2.00 (0.079) P1 8.00 (0.315) W 16.00 (0.630) E 1.75 (0.069) F 7.50 (0.295) G 0.75 (0.030) mm (inches) Tolerance ±0.50 (0.20) max. max. ±0.10 (0.004) +0.10/-0 (0.004/-0) min. ±0.101) (0.0041)) ±0.10 (0.004) ±0,10 (0.004) ±0.30 (0.012) ±0.10 (0.004) ±0.10 (0.004) min.
