PLD machine lights –
optimum integration in your machine
The PLD machine lights can be integrated
into your machine in a variety of ways individually suited to your requirements.
The PLD communications modules allow
the lights to be controlled via the shortest
route, directly in the field. Alternatively,
they can also be combined with an available
I/O system. A PWM terminal block enables
all function options and a machine
conversion is quickly completed. If only the
basic functions are required, then the
machine can be switched on and off via a
digital output or switch.

Examples of applications
PLD machine lights are controlled using
the PLD communication module via the
shortest route, directly in the field.
Woodworking machine
Minimal cabling
A variety of lights are needed for particularly long
machines. The PLD machine lights feature the
SPEEDCON M12 fast locking system. Thanks to this
system, a series connection can be implemented
quickly and with minimal cabling.
Spark erosion machine
Individual brightness settings
The control of the PLD machine lights
via a PWM terminal block enables
integration into the available
IP20 I/O system.
Depending on the application and the work step,
different lighting may be required for the interior of
the machine. Thanks to continuous dimming, the
brightness of the PLD machine lights can be
configured individually. This allows you to configure
the optimum illumination setting at any time.
Press
Robust housing
The PLD machine lights feature an especially robust
housing, and can therefore be implemented even
in harsh environmental conditions. In addition to
high vibration resistance, they are shock-tested
and spark-resistant. They can even be used in
components such as machine tools, thanks to
their resistance to cooling and lubricants.
Printing press
Long service life
The control of PLD machine lights via a
digital output module enables the use of
basic functions.
Thanks to high-quality LEDs, the PLD machine lights
achieve a service life of at least 65,000 hours. Even in
machines that are difficult to access, valuable
maintenance time is saved.

PLD machine lights –
product range and accessories
Thanks to different light lengths, varying
emission angles, and a comprehensive range
of mounting accessories, PLD machine lights
offer the flexibility you need and can be
integrated into your machine without any
problems – regardless of your application
requirements.
They can also be integrated easily into
PROFINET and PROFIBUS networks using
the shortest possible route in PLD
communication modules.
The PLD machine lights are integrated into the machine control
system directly via PROFINET. This allows for an optimum
adjustment of the lighting to match the respective operating
state of the machine.

PSD signal towers –
optimum detection of machine states
Reducing downtime and avoiding costs –
this is the only way to ensure critical
competitive advantages. A clear signaling of
the machine or system state is an important
prerequisite for this. The modular signal
towers of the PSD product range (Phoenix
Contact Signaling Devices) feature a wide
range of visual and audible signals. If there is
less space available, then you can map up to
seven different states with just one multicolored element.

LED – the lighting of the future
Lighting and signaling from Phoenix
Contact offers all the advantages
associated with LED technology and
more: In addition to increased
vibration tolerance and shock
resistance, burn hazards have been
reduced thanks to the absence of
heat output toward the front. Lights
equipped with LEDs offer another
advantage with respect to supply
voltage, which can now be restricted
to 24 V DC. The choice between
Industry-specific signaling solutions
Each industry places special
requirements on system automation.
This also applies to signaling equipement
in infrastructure projects. In dedicated
industry teams, Phoenix Contact focuses
on these challenges and finds customized
solutions together with the customer.
An example of this is intelligent LED
signal lights that are precisely adapted to
the maritime requirements of a ship's
route as part of sluice automation.
Combined with high-performance
control and network technology from
Phoenix Contact, the sluice can be
monitored, controlled and operated with
high availability. The system has a
modular design, making it compatible
with future expansions.
analog and digital control opens the
door to a wide array of applications.
LEDs also have a significantly longer
service life than conventional lights
and are particularly energy-efficient.
This saves on maintenance time and
costs.
LED-specific accessories
You will find a wide selection of
accessories for your LED-based lighting –
from connection technology specially
designed for the manufacture of LED
lights and surge protection developed for
street lighting, all the way to network
components used to integrate your
lighting system into the entire application
network.
