Plenary Meeting DCIT #17
DATE:
TIME:
PLACE:
August 23, 2012
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
ITT Exelis
2733 South Crystal Dr., Suite 1200

Plenary Meeting
 Gregg Anderson welcomed the group and kicked off the meeting. Afterward, John
Kefoliotis with Exelis ITT welcomed the DCIT group and gave a brief background and
history of ITT Exelis.
 Gregg Anderson reiterated that DCIT meetings are a forum where discussion is
encouraged. With that said, he segued into program updates:
o DCIS Contract award is getting close and there is a lot of activity at FAA
Headquarters to meet milestones and deadlines.
o Thales/Exelis – There is a schedule issue with delivering the products at
previously expected times. The box has been delivered, installation checkout
process has occurred, Boeing lab tests, Airbus in France in process. Patches and
fixes being collected.
 Issue: A hyphen is part of the logon. This causes a break in the logon and
produces a mis-match in revision numbers between HADDS and FDIO.
 Thales and ITT Exelis are working to figure out how to correct this.
o Gregg assured that, while this is an unexpected hurdle, it is
NOT considered a failure. It requires a concerted team
effort to overcome, but there is a solution to getting oast
this issue.
o 4 builds to be delivered and installed by late November.
 “Definition of Success” is a request made by the Data Comm
Program Manager, Sandra Anderson. A Tiger Team will possibly be
developed to develop a draft of the definition.
 The NextGen film crew has funded video footage for trials and
video shooting is scheduled to start with FedEx/Memphis Tower
site acceptance.
 NATCA counterparts will spend time at Tech Center the week of
August 27th. There will be training for the GUI, as well as many
other moving parts related to the DCIT. The Data Comm Program
Manager will visit and tour the facilities while gathering updates
and progress reports.
 Matt Maki presented the DCL Trials update to discuss the DTAP Development Status and
Trials Activities/Schedule/Testing Status. This presentation can be viewed on the DCIT
website – “Departure Clearance Trials DCIT 17 - Matt Maki”. Discussions that came from
the presentation:
o Pete Muraca starts testing of DTAP boxes today (August 23, 2012); OT&E NATCA
rep starts mid September.
