Description of Changes
Macronix introduces the MX25L3206E as a replacement of the MX25L3205D. All customers
are requested to start the migration for their existing design to the MX25L3206E as soon as
possible.
MX25L3206E supports new features, SFDP mode and Dual Output mode (Single Input / Dual
Output), but no longer supports x2 I/O (Dual Input / Dual Output), Continuously Program (CP)
mode and ACC function.

Impact of Changes and Recommended Actions
MX25L3206E no longer supports x2 I/O (Dual Input / Dual Output) mode, host systems using
the x2 1/O (Dual Input/Dual Output) mode of the MX25L3205D have to be migrated to Single
Input/Dual Output mode.
The removal of the ACC mode means that high voltage can no longer be applied to the WP#
pin. Doing so will damage the MX25L3206E. Make sure that the programmer does not use the
ACC feature. This feature needs to be disabled or updated with the latest MX25L3206E
programming algorithm if it is used.
Applications using the MX25L3205D need to migrate to the MX25L3206E, and new designs
should only use the MX25L3206E. Migration to MX25L3206E will enable Macronix to provide
continuous support to our customers.
