600 Series Remote Annunciators 600 Series RAN2, RAN2-RC Models Description Gamewell-FCI 600 Series systems can accommodate up to 64 devices connected to the serial communications port. In addition to the Remote Annunciator (RAN2), these devices include Serial Annunciator drives (SAN) and Remote Printer Interfaces (RPI). These devices comprise the Gamewell-FCI Status Control Network. Each device contains its own microprocessor and can be programmed independently. A network of devices can be programmed directly from a single device, saving valuable installation time. The Remote Alphanumeric Display (RAN2) is fully supervised and has dual serial ports for network connection. The RAN2 family displays the user text from the main system. The remote control version (RAN2-RC) has seven switches: Remote Acknowledge, Reset, Signal Silence, Lamp Test, Display 1st Event, Display Next Event, Display Previous Event. g2025ph1.jpg The 600 Series remote annunciators (RAN2 and RAN2RC) provide remote display and control capabilities. Each RAN device is connected to the main 600 Series Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) via a serial communications port. The RAN interprets the instructions from the main FACP, initiating its own programmed response, and retransmitting the instructions to the next device. RAN2, RAN2-RC Features • Backlit LCD alphanumeric display, 4-lines by 40-characters. • Up to 64 devices supported on a single 600 Series control panel. • Field-programming via PC. • Dual optically-isolated serial ports. • Microprocessor controlled. • Supervised. • Allows remote system control. • Surface-mount and flush-mount models available. The basic RAN2 has a scroll switch only. The scroll switch is used to review multiple events on the system. The remote control versions are provided with a seven-position switch bank and eight LEDs for system annunciation. The switches provide remote control of the connected system. A key switch enables and disables the switches to prevent unauthorized operation. • Adjustable viewing angle. • Network monitoring capabilities. The Status Control Network is connected to the main 600 Series control panel via an EIA-232 data communications line. Since the RAN can also control system activity, no additional hardware is needed to complete a status and command center for a system of any size.
