Optical Encoders SERIES 61B 16, 24, or 32 Position, Optional Pushbutton FEATURES • Positions Screen Cursor • More Friendly than Keyboards • Permits Visual Concentration • Economic Touchscreen Alternative • Pushbutton for Entry Function • Detent for Tactile Feedback and Minimal Backlash • Optical Coupled for Long Life • Rugged Construction APPLICATIONS Optical and Mechanical Encoders Display Input Incremental Input The Series 61 rotary encoder switch can move cursor or icon on a display. Use the rotary and pushbutton switch to simply select a menu item and enter it, or write more elaborate display software. Use the Series 61 to input limit settings for a monitored function. Change an item on a checklist to a new value while viewing the remainder of the list. Use the Series 61 with an interface chip to provide step by step input for setting radio frequency, drill depth, RPM, etc. These changes are usually a few steps, and you need not turn the switch several revolutions for the desired value. Some examples are as follows: • Robot Position • Volume Setting • Radio Tuning • Limit Setting • Motor Control DIMENSIONS In inches (and millimeters) Diagram illustrates a 16-position switch with integral pushbutton switch. .859 ± .020 (22,1 ± 0,5) .769 ± .025 (19,5 ± 0,6) .375 ± .020 (9,5 ± 0,5) A ± 3˚ .250 ± .002 (6,35 ± 0,05) DIA. .312 ± .020 (7,9 ± 0,5) .152 ± .002 (3,86 ± 0,05) .200 ± .010 (5,1 ± 0,5) .562 ± .015 (14,3 ± 0,4) .050 ± .005 (1,3 ± 0,1) .015/ .040 (0,38/ 1,02) TRAVEL .066 ± .002 (1,68 ± 0,05) .219 ± .004 (5,6 ± 0,1) PIN 1 PIN 2 PIN 3 PIN 4 PIN 5 PIN 6 .250 ± .020 (6,4 ± 0,5) 3/8-32 UNEF-2A THREAD CL OF SWITCH *ANGLE A Centerline of switch to perpendicular of shaft flat 32 Pos. 24 Pos. 16 Pos. .293 ± .010 (7,4 ± 0,25) OF SWITCH CL CL OF PINS .025 ± .002 (0,6 ± 0,1) SQUARE PIN (6 PLACES) CL OF SHAFT FLAT Grayhill part number and date code marked on label.
